RIP CVS Green Bag Tag!

The rumors are true. It’s finally coming to an end. The Green Bag Tag program at CVS has been discontinued.

Here are the details:

• Beginning 4/28, Green Bag Tag tallies will no longer appear on your receipt.
• Scan your Green Bag Tag at checkout between 4/28 and 5/31 and receive a $2.00 ExtraBucks reward stating the following: “We’re sorry but our Green Bag Tag Program has ended. Please accept these ExtraBucks rewards for your past participation. Your tag is recyclable.”
• Multiple scans will not yield multiple $2.00 ExtraBucks–this is one time only–and be prepared for the cashier to take back your GBT.

It is sad to see this program go, but the silver lining is the $2.00 ExtraBucks that would normally have taken eight trips to get! All good things must end, but at least we’re getting a parting gift, right?
